Recording in: Monasteries, Churches and chapels in the wider area of the community of Vathi. In earlier years, the celebration of a saint was the occasion for a festival and the gathering of fellow villagers, even if they had to walk a whole day to get there. Many feasts continue to be celebrated today by local residents. The treat after Mass or vespers varies depending on the season and fasting. Especially for the celebration of the Holy Monastery of Chrysoskalitissa, visitors came from the eve of the celebration, with boatmen even from Gavdos. They walked from Kissamos and Selino through paths to worship the Virgin Mary. In later years there were small vendors and taverns playing music for the entertainment of visitors.
